Cherry Sycamore
Cherry Sycamore

Figured Cherry/Quarter Sawn Cutting and Serving Board (Both sides shown)

19 x 10 1/2 x 5/8 inches - This board made from figured cherry (VA) and quarter sawn Sycamore (TN) is one of the prettiest pieces I've ever made. It can be used for serving, cutting and display. I'd suggest cutting on one side and using the other for serving and displaying.

Cherry Serving Board with Padded Feet

12 5/8 x 8 x 1 3/8 inches - This board is from a discarded West Virginia stump which was rescued and cut into slabs. This is a nicely figured small cutting board. It also will make a nice cheese or serving board.

Ash-Walnut-Cutting Board

Ash/Walnut Cutting Serving Board (Both sides shown)

19 x 5 7/8 x 1 inch - This is a multi-purpose board which looks good hanging on the wall or on the dining room table besides being a nice cutting board. Wood from West Virginia. It was in my "too good to throw away" bin.

Cherry-Ash-Cutting Board

Cherry-Ash-Cutting Board

Cherry/Ash Cutting Board (Both sides Shown)

17 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 7/8 inches - This is a true multi-purpose board. Both West Virginia woods are hard and perfect for heavy cutting. Both sides are nicely figured so you could use one side for cutting and the other as a serving board or to hang on your wall. This would make a special gift.

Walnut Cutting Board

Walnut Cutting/Serving Board with feet

17 x 11 inches (one side board) This board is made from Virginia walnut and has a very attractive figure. This board was made from wood that was headed to the burn pile.

Maple cutting board
Maple cutting board

Maple Board (Both sides shown)

18 x 10 3/4 x 3/4 inches - A nice board made from a single piece of Tennessee maple. A fine cutting board, wall hanging or serving board. This is for a serious cook who is looking for a real cutting board.

Cedar board with feet

Tennessee Eastern Red Cedar Board with Padded Feet

18 x 8+/- inches - This board can be used as a cutting board, cheese board, or maybe as a serving board or as a little island on a table for display items.

Red Cedar Board
Red cedar board

Tennessee Eastern Red Cedar (Both Sides Shown)

19 x 7 3/4 x 7/8 inches - Even when this board was rough cut (unplaned), I knew it was special. It turned out even better than expected. You might want to hang it up and just look at it. However, it still can serve as a cutting board on one side and remain a show piece.

Apple Serving Board

Virginia Apple Serving Board with Padded Feet

17 1/4 x 7+ x 1 3/4 inches - This beautiful piece was taken from an old tree cut down in my yard. I set it aside for five years and cut it up into slabs. What a pleasant surprise! The result was four beautiful boards. The wood is very hard and suitable to cut on, but I think it is too pretty to mar. It would also be perfect as a serving board, a table island, or even a cheese board. A bonus is the two natural edges which add to its beauty.

  Walnut Cutting Board

Virginia Walnut Serving Board - (Both sides shown)

15 x 10 3/4 x 1 inch - This is a particularly nice medium sized board with good figure. A perfect board to use one side for display and serving and the other for a heavy duty cutting board.

cherry and birch board
cherry and birch board

Kentucky Sweet Birch/Virginia Cherry - (Both sides shown)

17 3/4 x 11 7/8 x 9/16 inches - A very nice multi-purpose board. The center Sweet Birch is rather plain, but the cherry sides with their nice figure and classic color make a nice combination. A nice board at a good price.

North Carolina Butternut (Both sides shown)

17 3/8 x 6 to 7 1/2 x 13/16 inches - This attractive board can be a multi-purpose board good for most uses. Butternut is a hardwood, but the wood is softer than most so it would be best used for LIGHT cutting. You can use one side for cutting and the other side for serving, cheese board, etc.

Hickory Serving Board
Hickory Serving Board

Georgia Hickory (Both sides shown)

14 x 5 5/8 to 7 x 3/4 inches - This small free form board is an excellent choice for a multi-purpose board. Hickory is one of the hardest native woods. This individual piece has a really nice figure and color.

Hickory Board with feet

Georgia Hickory with padded feet

16 1/2 x 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 x 3/4 inch - A light duty cutting/cheese board and probably best of all used as a serving board. This is a good example of how an old board can develop beautiful color and figure. One thing for sure - this is absolutely a "one of a kind" piece.

SPECIAL ORDERS - I have a large supply of very nice wood and will be happy to make you a personalized board. In the past I've worked with interior and kitchen designers to provide them items for clients that desire hand made custom pieces. I am one of a very few craftsmen who will make a unique piece to your specifications.

Figured Cherry Cutting Board

Figured Cherry Cutting Board - (S O L D)

This was a special order board that I knew would be a beauty. I have a small supply of highly figured cherry that was purchased from a neighbor in Virginia. The board certainly exceeded my expectations.

If you would like a board similar to this one, please contact me and I can make one for you. No two boards are every exactly alike because of the variations in the wood..
